A twin over full bunk bed is exactly as it sounds, it`s a twin bed on top of a larger, full-sized bunk bed sitting below. Of course, a twin over full bunk bed is also perfect for single children as well - as it provides a fun and convenient sleeping space for friends during sleepovers.
However there is one thing you need to think about. Bunks can be dangerous for kids, particularly young kids, if you don`t take precautions. Kids can hurt themselves in falls from the top bunk, and so you need to make sure you get child friendly bunks. Make sure the top bunk has good railings to prevent falls, don`t buy bunks with no railings on the top. And make sure they have good solid stairs.
This said, although the basic concept has stayed the same, the range of colours, materials and design details has altered quite a lot over the last few years. Gone are the days when bunk beds were plain pine or tubular metal, they are now available in a variety of materials and colour options to suit most schemes and budgets.
Parents use futon bunk beds so two children can share a bedroom more easily than separate twin beds allow. The upper bunk is usually for the older child.
