Finally, there is always a possibility to put another bed in there -- the difference here as compared to a bunk bed is, this bed can be added later on as a need arises, and it can also be removed or dislocated, put in another room if necessary. The downside is, the lower bed needs to be placed in a perpendicular fashion related to the main bed, which takes up a bit more space.
Remind them that they cannot fly, so jumping off the bed is a bad idea as is rough housing on it, jumping on it or leaning off the top bed. Keeping in mind these few simple precautions will make having a bunk bed in your child`s room safe and fun.
And while bunk beds are practical, let`s face it - sleeping in a bunk bed with a friend is one of the true joys that a child can experience. From calling out who`s got the top bunk to climbing up the ladder to telling stories to imaging your bunk bed is anything you want it to be, bunk beds, for many children and their families, are gathering spots and places to create fun and long-lasting memories.
As of late, however, many parents choose these larger beds even if their children are still too small to actually need them; the reasoning is, the extra space provides more comfort regardless of the child`s size, and there is no need to worry the kids will outgrow this piece of furniture: if sturdy enough, a full over full bunk bed will see them through teenage years and beyond.
