Maartje Fleetwood is a California-based artist working primarily in oil. Influenced by old masters, like Rosa Bonheur, Edwin Landseer, Jan Asselijn, François Boucher and Peter Paul Rubens, her work celebrates the intrinsic beauty of animals. With vibrant colors and bold brushstrokes, she depicts the liveliness and character of her subject.
Maartje is a multi-award winning artist with Wild Heart Gallery, winning Best in Show for our first ever ROAR: The Art of Cats. Her award-winning dog portrait is also the poster-pup for HOWL: The Art of Dogs 2024 art call.
We are thrilled to have her eye and art sensibilities as part of our jury!
