Modernism Show Flyer

This Call for Art is different from our usual, and we couldn't be more excited! We have secured a professional gallery space at the 25th Annual Palm Springs Modernism Show and Sale in Palm Springs California. The show takes place at the Palm Springs Convention Center, Palm Springs, California. 125 national and international dealers (including Wild Heart Gallery!) will present mid-century and contemporary modern design, including furniture, decorative arts, and contemporary pieces. We fall into the contemporary decorative arts in the Mid-Century Modernism (MidMod) style.

Quote about 2024's event, from @Modernism_Week, "Nearly 15,000 people attended the popular sale at the Palm Springs Convention Center, on par with the previous year. Additionally, more than 1,300 attendees participated in the opening night event that benefitted Modernism Week. The show will return to Palm Springs ... for its 25th anniversary show in February 2025. The event is the largest modernism show in the U.S. offering the best in mid-century and modern design items and regularly draws attendees from around the world."

Looking for inspiration or a better idea of what MidMod art is?

  • Pop Artists, like Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein

  • Bauhaus artists like Josef Albers are great inspiration for minimalist designs with bold colors

  • Non-representational artists like Jackson Pollack - but we want to be able to tell there's an animal in your work!

  • Abstract art that focuses on areas of flat color and simplified shapes. A quick internet search for "MidMod cat art" will present a wealth of ideas.

  • A broad range of art styles fit inside MidMod. Look at artwork from about 1940s-1960s for more ideas.

Please make sure that the art you submit is your own original artwork. Inspiration is wonderful but make sure the end result does not infringe on copyright. Photo-reference is acceptable (give credit as needed).
